"big data" is actually one of the most popular mottoes of medical attention. Everybody speaks about using big data in healthcare. There is no doubt that a whole variety of health care options using Big Data Analytics are available.
Most people consider this as business insight in the field of Big Data Analytics. That is, how can we gather all the details from the organization and use them for the good of the group. Or how do we use the existing data on health benefits for the good of our corporation in the case of a health insurance provider? This is a powerful thing that cannot be overlooked.
However, I believe that there is another aspect of the big data on healthcare that receives little exposure. Rather than call it Big Data Analytics, I call it concentrated patient analytics. What is patient analytics concentrated? That is where you take from big data comparatively limited items that depend on a single patient. The details you collect are comparatively thin, but when you take all the data into account, it can be a large amount of useful data. Moreover, all the big data silos of healthcare are important for this to be feasible. We aren't there yet, unfortunately, so we're going to get there. Imagine how smarter the EHR would be if the EHR were able to leverage the multiple silos of health data to establish oriented patient analyses. Unfortunately, these kinds of clever EHR software cannot even be built, because EHR software does not have many details. I am fond of dreaming about creativity if there were a free distribution of data to those who wanted it in healthcare. There are definitely many protection threats and questions around privacy to be discussed. We cannot, however, cause this obstacle to become a reason for us not to produce concentrated analyses of the patients.
